Locating local insulation defects in disconnected electric motors
Evolution of the method for identification of local electric insulation defects in windings of disconnected AC electric motors is summarized. To locate a local defect, the paper suggests to use a resistance calculated based on the parameters of a transient of discharge of preliminary charged cable capacitances. To locate a ground fault in the electric motor stator winding, frequency of the voltage between phases is used.
