Controlling multiple Home appliances through Google assistant and monitoring sensor’s data from server
Internet of Things (IoT) based on the idea of remotely connecting and monitoring real world objects which are specifies as things through Internet. In case of our houses, this concept can be aptly implemented to make this more smart and automated. Our IoT project focuses on building a smart wireless home automtion system which can be control remotely by the specific owner through Internet. Besides, the same can also be utilized for trespassers detection through a set of sensors. The leverage carried out by this system over similar kinds of existing systems that the status sent to the connected microcontroller managed system can be informed to the specific user on his phone from any remote location irrespective of whether his phone is connected to internet or not. The microcontroller used in the current prototype is a mcu node which comes with an embedded micro-controller and an onboard Wi-Fi shield making use of which all the connected electrical appliances inside that home can be controlled. A smart phone application called IFTT is used to connect the module and monitor the home appliances using different type of communication techniques. There are various types of wireless communication techniques such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and GSM etc. Moreover in the survey of different home automation systems are discussed and their advantages and loopholes are also highlighted.
