Especially absorption type of metasurfaces can be applied for mid infrared light source and detectors according to Kirchhoff's law. Here we demonstrate the recent advances of metasurface, fabrication (lithography/lithography free), optical characterization of reflection ,scattering and absorption, photo-thermal energy conversion, and sensing applications in mid infrared wavelength.
