The development of smart grid has become the focus of the community. However, the distribution system has complex structure and many intelligent terminal devices, so there is no unified communication standard to realize the interconnection of power equipment and information. The fifth generation cellular communication network (5G) officially put into commercial use means that 5G technology is gradually mature. This paper takes the key technology of 5Gcommunication network - Network slicing technology as an example, analyzes the key technology of network slicing and the communication network application scenario of smart grid, discusses the application of 5G network slicing technology in smart grid.
