The train fleet aged, the failure rate increases causing additional cost to organizations. Rolling stock is the department of the railway which takes care of the maintenance of trains. Technological advancement formulates driverless metro trains also in operation. The operational impact of any system failure on these trains is always more than conventional railway as no human is available on site to mitigate the failure consequences. This research work focuses on identifying the train system, which caused more operational delays and to identify the requirement of modern maintenance strategies like risk-based or reliability-based maintenance to reduce the maintenance cost and operational delays.
