People using MAR systems can enhance and extend the experience in both real and virtual spaces. This paper introduces the concept and characteristics of mobile augmented reality (MAR). Then we focus on the key technologies which have great impact on the MAR systems, including track registration, object detection and recognition, calibration, and model rendering etc. We present some typical MAR cases in different fields to show the ideas that are currently used.
