The findings provided empirical support for the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) theory and demonstrated that the use of nuclear and renewable energy resources is linked to lower carbon dioxide (CO2) over the long term. Carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels, which are used for most of the world's energy needs, have been steadily rising in recent years.
