With the goal of identifying the main electrical connection, the article formulated the classification principle of switch bays. According to the principle, the circuit breakers and isolating switches are classified into circuit breaker bays or isolating switch bays. Based on a clear data base and functional requirements, the paper summarized the characteristics of switch bay in each electrical connection. Considering that a voltage level contains a variety of main electrical connections or incomplete main electrical connections, the article proposed the corresponding identification method of main electrical connection and the attributes of bay. On this basis, the overall analysis process is designed.
