The equations of motion of compressible fluids in different wording for integration within the volume bounded by the front of the shock wave and the surface wave of depression that follows the wave of compression at some distance. Waves of compression and rarefaction intersect at the free sea surface, in the vicinity of which the conditions of rapid expansion.
