Proposal for Intelligent Hockey Surveillance System using IoT Framework
Hockey is one of the most popular sports in India after Cricket. Also globally, it is very popular as it is played in the Olympics. Unfortunately, while playing the game, the hockey players often face serious injuries and succumb to illnesses. These illnesses include shortage of breath, bone-breaking, respiration problem, tongue-swallowing and concussion. In extreme cases, death may also occur. Being fit and healthy is one of the most important factors of a player. Researchers have been trying to reduce this risk of injuries and death by constantly suggesting and developing devices which can achieve the objective. Internet of Things (IoT) has been one such important feature which is being implemented by researchers to achieve this objective. This paper of ours suggests and proposes a methodology through which the risk of injuries in hockey players can be minimized, hence letting them stay fit for a longer time to focus on their sport. Our paper aims to use IoT framework in Hockey, with the help of sensor devices, technologies and Cloud Computing to monitor the health and fitness of the players. The objective is to implement IoT in the genre of sports and games.
