The algorithm based salience function and pitch contour characteristics is used for extracting the melody. The parameter Frequency Estimation Error (FEE) is taken for evaluating the performance of melody extraction algorithm. Also, their performance is evaluated for various musical genres such as JAZZ, MIDI, POP and OPERA MALE for comparison purpose.
