Glucomannan was produced from the yeast strain Sporobolomyces salmonicolor, isolated from lichem samples from the region of the Bulgarian Base on Jirings for Island, Antarctica. Transmission spectra of gelatin, mannan and glucomarinan in the visible, NIR and JR region of the electromagnetic spectrum have been taken. The refraction indices of biopolymer water solutions studied and of the films obtained from them for two wavelengths have been measured. The dispersion coefficients of Sellmeier of the film and the liquid phase of the given polymers have been calculated.
