Examination of Parasites in Seawater Ornamental Fish at Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products Denpasar, Bali
Seawater ornamental fish is an Indonesian fauna whose are very diverse and easily infested with parasite. Therefore, the fish quarantine procedures was necessary to prevent the spread of the parasitic disease. The purpose of this study was to examine and identication of parasites in marine ornamental fish before transported from Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products Denpasar, Bali. Parasite examination was carried out by conventional methods including scrapping in mucus, gill, fin and operculum for ectoparasite and intestine for endoparasite. The parasite identification based from morphological characterization. The results of the examination and identification of parasites founded Dactylogyrus, Benedenia and Balantidium from ectoparasite and Archigetes, Spirocamallanus and Hexangium from endoparasite.
