It is a more crucial question if we want our material to appear in commerce because the cost of developing CD (master copy and copies) changes according to the amount of data on the disk. In the case of fractal-based compression (FIF) we can save space and money. Our studies verified that this compression method also results in an improvement in quality in the case of raster image size (640/spl times/480, 800/spl times/600, 1024/spl times/768).
