Auto- and crosscorrelation properties for extended m-sequences and related sequences
Sequences from the well-known linear PN-sequence families like m-sequences or Gold-codes all have periods 2/sup n/-1, n integer. These sequences provide good auto- and/or crosscorrelation properties whereas-in some cases-they do not fit system clock requirements in that their period is not equal to 2/sup n/ but smaller by one. Thus, it might be advantageous to increase the period of the above mentioned sequences by one yielding extended sequences with period 2/sup n/. In the article extended m-sequences and sequences obtained from extended m-sequences are investigated and compared to m-sequences and Gold-codes. The even auto- and crosscorrelation functions are evaluated.<>
