Near-infrared seeded cavity ring-down for trace gas detection
Summary form only. Recently there is a growing interest in atmospheric trace pollutants detection. One way to measure it is to use optical methods, i.e. laser absorption spectroscopy. As most of pollutants have absorption lines in the infrared region, a good way to detect them is to use a tunable infrared source with a high sensitivity detection method. The whole device we use with intracavity difference frequency generation+cavity ring down spectroscopy is a promising tool to measure atmospheric pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOC).
