An investigation into the efficiency of silicon carbide based power inverters
In this work, a study of a silicon carbide power modules in power inverter is presented. Voltage/Current/power and switching energy loss characteristics based on experimental data are detailed. A comparative study of total power losses and efficiency of a silicon carbide based three phase inverter with silicon base is analyzed and studied. The efficiency of the silicon carbide based inverters based on Semi-south manufactured device is found to be about 99%, and is more efficient than known conventional silicon based inverters, especially at high frequency.
