The influencing factors of the number of passes during the development of the profiling scheme are analyzed, the ambiguity is indicated, for example, the metal thickness factor. These factors are divided into subgroups: geometry, material, other operations on the line, the characteristics of the mill. Criteria for choosing the bending angle for the technological pass of profiling are considered. Eight different methods for determining the number of profiling passes are analyzed. The information is generalized, comparison criteria are highlighted, which makes it possible to identify the most optimal formalized approaches to determine the number of technological passes during profiling.
