With the advantages of high speed and reliable, InfiniBand technology could load other protocol data units, and bring the convergence of InfiniBand and Ethernet. In this paper the conversion technologies between IB and Ethernet were introduced and compared. Firstly, we describe the stateless protocol converting mechanism, EoIB, and analyze the key technologies of address mapping and encapsulation of packets. Then, we design and implement the IB/Ethernet gateway.
