Integration of Passive Cooling System in a Building Information Model: Indoor Vegetated Envelope Model
In recent years, urban sustainability has paid particular attention all over the world. Construction industry recognizes transition toward low carbon emission and energy efficiency in order to reach sustainable and green buildings. In this context, the harmony between vegetation and construction responds to this massive challenge, providing economic and ecological benefits to new and existing buildings. Vertical Vegetated Envelope, defined as a passive design technology and as innovative architecture approach involving the use of nature-based materials demonstrates green efficiency in both building and urban scales. This research aims to present the workflow used to integrate dynamic simulation -based on thermal energy analysis in a digital Building Information Model of an indoor vegetated envelope system.
