Inventory Optimization of Fresh Foods Based on Shang Mao Cheng Supermarket

With the development of social economy, fresh food sales are increasing and become more important in supermarket operation. However, due to the seasonal impact of fresh products and their perishability, fresh foods can easily deteriorate in transit which lead to losses. The control strategy of fresh product inventory is the key point of supermarket inventory management. Therefore, the inventory control strategy of fresh products is the key of supermarket supply chain management. This paper analyzes the problems existing in the sales and inventory management of fresh pork in Shang Mao Cheng Supermarket, and analyzes the factors affecting the demand with the EOQ model, and establishes an inventory optimization model with the deterioration rate as a constant and the demand influenced by both price and freshness. MATLAB was used to solve the optimal order volume and order cycle and the optimal sales price per day, and the feasible suggestions were put forward for the fresh goods inventory management of the supermarket.
