The way of ECG signal obtaining from the respiratory wave by Savitzky-Golay filtration
The method of obtaining the wave from the electrocardiography (ECG) signal is very important in detecting respiratory and cardiac diseases. This paper presents the Abraham Savitzky and Marcel J. E. Golay filtration (Savitzky-Golay, SG) and the ECG-derived respiration (EDR) method for extracting the respiratory waves and determining the respiratory rate from clear electrocardiographic signals. Studies have shown that the method accuracy of detecting the respiratory activity is dependent on many factors, including the appropriate ECG lead (L1-L12), body mass index (BMI), gender, age, and lung parameters. In order to maintain the best efficiency of the method, its selection should be adapted to the patient's profile.
