A novel digital signal processing scheme for a stationary reticle seeker
We propose a novel digital signal processing scheme to overcome performance limit of a conventional stationary reticle seeker that is caused by its analogue signal processing optimized only for FM modulated signals. The proposed scheme classifies the modulated signals into the FM and FM/AM signals, and applies different signal processing techniques to each modulated signal. The proposed scheme also adjusts a clipping level in order to reduce noise effects. Various simulations are performed for the estimation of the proposed scheme, as a function of target position and size. The results of simulations confirm that the proposed scheme is superior to the conventional one in the linearity of the static gain curve and robustness against noise.
