Study of ferroresonance in a series compensated network
The series compensated degraded network supplies the power transformer of a vacuum static VAr compensator. Ferroresonance is defined and the power network is modelled by a single-phase equivalent circuit feeding a transformer. Modelling takes account of magnetic saturation. The search for fixed points of the Poincare application of the system of network differential equations is used to localise the ferroresonant solutions. Digital simulations show that ferroresonance can appear on such a power network after elimination of a short-circuit at the transformer terminals.
