That is the reason of installing of the capability diagrams on synchronous generators in power plants. However, capability diagram of synchronous generators are often based on parameters provided from manufacturer. Measurement and numerical calculations, on the other hand, show that the parameters of the synchronous machines are changing with operational point and the level of the saturation in the machine. Due to change of the parameters the capability diagram limits are also changing. This paper describes the method for experimental determination of the variable operational limits in capability diagram of the synchronous machines.
