Research on acoustic emission source location method based on cross-correlation analysis without measuring sonic speed
This paper is aimed at solving the source location problem of acoustic emission (AE). Because the sonic speed will be changed along with different materials, it is very difficult to be accurately measured. This paper makes use of a method which can realize sound source localization without the measurement of sonic speed. Four AE sensors are arrayed according to the square shape, and the time difference between different sensors is calculated by the cross-correlation analysis method. Based on the SAEU2S type four channel AE instrument, experiments on a steel plate are carried out, in which we use the breaking of a pencil to imitate AE source. Experiments show that this method has high location precision.
