The antenna is implemented on a quarter mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology by introducing a slit shaped modification. The dual band antenna concept has been demonstrated for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands but the approach is readily applicable to centimeter and millimeter wave applications due to the low loss characteristics of SIW.
