In this paper we want to present the EPCIS DEPCAS layer. DEPCAS (Data EPC Acquisition System) is a RFID middleware proposal based on an extension of control and data acquisition systems (SCADAs). We examine the elements that compound EPCIS in DEPCAS based on SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) and publish/subscribe message technologies implemented with JMS (Java Message Service).
