In clinical setting, an ablation zone with high sphericity is desirable because most tumors are nearly spherical shapes. In this study, a tri-slot coaxial antenna with aperiodic layout of the slots is proposed to achieve an ablation zone with high circularity. The genetic algorithm is used to optimize the layout of the slots. A FEM model is built for evaluate the performance of the proposed antenna.
