Mathematical Modeling of Specific Power Consumption of Electrolyzers
In the course of a comprehensive energy audit at a non-ferrous metallurgy enterprise, a method for constructing mathematical models of the specific electricity consumption of electrolyzers based on a full factor experiment was developed. It is established that the obtained adequate mathematical model is used to calculate and predict the specific electricity consumption for hydrogen production and allows, within certain limits of variation in the amount of potassium bichromate and the density of the electrolyte, to control the consumption of electricity at industrial enterprises of non-ferrous metallurgy. The study and analysis of changes in the component of specific electricity consumption by the density of the electrolyte over time. It is established that when monitoring the density of the electrolyte in the on-line mode, it is recommended to pump the alkali 2 times a year for 0.5 of the total annual volume. At the same time, a significant reduction in the specific energy consumption is achieved. The results obtained in this work can be used for effective calculation and forecasting of electricity consumption of electrolyzers at non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises.
