Significant environmental impacts were indicated due to operating of these power plants and, badly affecting on the adjacent commercial and residential areas. In this research work, twenty one sites inside SBPP and six outside have been selected for air sampling, testing and analysis. GIS images were taken during testing periods and processed by special computer program to indicate the dispersed pollutants concentrations on the ground level. The results showed considerable air pollution of suspended particulates inside and outside the stations. 摘要

南巴格达电厂(SBPP)是巴格达最重要的项目之一。该工厂有三个站点位于工业区底格里斯河东岸。这些站点包括;(1) 320MW汽轮机,(2)250MW燃气轮机,(3)400MW燃气轮机。由于这些发电厂的运作,对环境造成重大影响,并严重影响邻近的商业和住宅区。在本次研究工作中,选取了园区内21个站点和园区外6个站点进行空气采样、检测和分析。在测试期间拍摄GIS图像,并通过特殊的计算机程序进行处理,以显示地面上分散的污染物浓度。结果表明,监测站内外悬浮颗粒物污染严重。从这些监测站采集的废水样本显示,冬季铅、镍、锌和铜等重金属浓度相当高。
