If the load distribution is uneven in the SDN networks, it will greatly affect the performance of network. Many SDN-based load balancing strategies have been proposed to improve the performance of the SDN networks. Therefore, this paper summarizes and classifies the load balancing schemes in SDN networks, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of them.
