Balun configurations of choke were analyzed using a 3$\\lambda$/8 monopole at 915 MHz. The surface current density and volume loss density characteristics were used to evaluate balun efficiency and were compared with a conventional monopole without balun. The antenna performance with and without the balun configurations was numerically assessed and compared in terms of specific absorption rate (SAR) and input power reflection coefficient.
