METHODOLOGY: Single blinded randomized controlled trial conducted in the Operative Dentistry department at Fatima Jinnah Dental College and Hospital, Karachi. A total of 100 premolar and molar teeth with class I and II cavities were included in this study. The study participants were assigned into two groups, A and B of 50 participants each. Under local anesthesia, Group A was indirectly pulp capped with Calcium hydroxide (Dycal) and Group B received Mineral Trioxide Aggregate as an indirect pulp capping material. Both groups were then restored with Glass Ionomer Cement. Radiographic follow up was carried out at three and six months to determine mean dentin thickness of reparative dentin bridge. RESULTS: Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS v 23. Independent Sample t-test was applied to evaluate the formation of dentin bridge formation using Ca(OH)2 and MTA at 3 months & 6 months, the outcomes were highly significant (p-value<0.001). Paired sample t-test was applied to evaluate the difference in dentin bridge formation at three months and 6 months, the results were highly significant (p-value <0.001). CONCLUSION: Statistically significant difference was observed in the dentin thickness of reparative dentin bridge amongst the two groups after three months and six months. A greater success rate was noted in the MTA group as compared to the Ca(OH)2 group after 6 months. 摘要
目的:比较氢氧化钙和MTA在x线片上获得的牙本质桥厚度。方法:在卡拉奇法蒂玛真纳牙科学院和医院牙科外科进行的单盲随机对照试验。本研究共纳入100颗I类和II类蛀牙的前磨牙和磨牙。研究参与者被分为两组,A组和B组,每组50人。局部麻醉下,A组采用氢氧化钙间接盖髓,B组采用三氧化矿骨料间接盖髓。两组均用玻璃离子水门合剂修复。术后3个月和6个月进行影像学随访,测定修复牙本质桥的平均牙本质厚度。结果:采用SPSS v 23进行统计学分析。采用独立样本t检验评价3个月和6个月时Ca(OH)2和MTA牙本质桥形成情况,结果具有高度显著性(p值<0.001)。采用配对样本t检验评价3个月和6个月牙本质桥形成的差异,结果具有高度显著性(p值<0.001)。结论:修复牙本质桥3个月、6个月后两组牙本质厚度差异有统计学意义。6个月后,与Ca(OH)2组相比,MTA组的成功率更高。关键词:牙本质桥,根管治疗,间接牙髓盖,修复性牙本质,随机对照试验。
