ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN INFORMASI GENERASI Z DALAM AKSES INFORMASI DI MEDIA

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas informasi apa yang paling dibutuhkan oleh  generasi Z berbasis teknologi informasi. Generasi Z adalah generasi yang lahir pada tahun 1995-2009. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui informasi apa saja yang dibutuhkan  generasi Z pada siswa SMA YUPENTEK 1 Kota Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa dan objek penelitian adalah kebutuhan informasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Yupentek 1 Kota Tangerang yang lahir tahun 1999-2001. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 86 orang siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, kuesioner dan studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa informasi yang paling dibutuhkan oleh Generasi Z adalah informasi penyakit seksual/organ reproduksi dan hubungan pertemanan. Sumber informasi yang dipilih oleh generasi Z dalam mencari informasi adalah google dan media sosial. Generation Z is defined as generation born within the timeframe 1995 to 2009. This study is focused on investigating what kind of information is needed by the Generation Z in SMA YUPENTEK 1 Kota Tanggerang. By using quantitative method with descriptive approach, students are placed as the subject of the study and the information needs as the object. The population is the students of SMA YUPENTEK 1 Kota Tanggerang born in the period of 1999 to 2001. The total sample of 86 students is obtained from the population. Data collected through observations, questionnaires, and literature studies. The result shows that the information regarding sexually transmitted/reproductive system diseases and friendships is mostly needed by Generation Z.
