In one case the embolization was performed by way of vertebral artery catheterization through the axillary artery, in the remaining II cases--through the femoral artery. The embolization was carried out with the aid of polystyrene balls, 2 to 3 mm in diameter, numbering 8 to 40. In some cases the needed direction of the emboli movement was achieved by applying a magnetic field.
