In order to solve the problem of quantifying the output combined with the output characteristics of new energy in the calculation of power grid planning, this paper analyzed the historical data of the output operation and output of wind power plants and photovoltaic power stations in a regional power grid from 2019 to 2021, established the natural characteristics index system of wind power and photovoltaic power generation, and calculated the confidence capacity, effective capacity and reverse peak regulation coefficient of regional new energy output. It is applied in the “ 14th Five-Year Plan’’ and medium - and long-term power grid planning project in this region.
