Dreikurs’s Wisdom on Democracy, Equality, and Delinquency: There and Back Again

Abstract:Dreikurs’s writings about democracy, establishment, social equality, and childhood delinquency offer wisdom to address the rising tensions in our society and increased gaps between generations. This article examines how Dreikurs encountered and interpreted these challenges in the past and in what ways we can apply his wisdom now and in the future. Drawing mainly on Dreikurs’s writings, guidance is provided for parents, clinicians, case managers, educators, and others working with children, with key themes illustrated through a contemporary case study.
