Transformer Resonant Phenomenon during Power System Restoration Planning
This paper deals with a peculiar electromagnetic phenomenon which can occur during the formation of the restoration path of a black start test. Since effective power system restoration procedures play a key role in the assessment of the electrical network resilience and safety, it becomes crucial to deeply understand all the phenomena which could arise from black start mock drills. In fact, the simulations presented in this work give useful insights on the performances of the chosen restoration path and on the possible contingencies during the restoration process. In particular, this paper focuses on a resonant phenomenon which could occur after the de-energization of some elements of the restoration path. Such phenomenon is described and investigated in detail in the paper by analysing electromagnetic simulations.
