In the first section, this paper summarizes the definition of the virtual power plant. In the second section, according to the uncertain factors of distributed energy output, this paper summarizes the optimal scheduling of virtual power plants, puts forward the existing problems in the scheduling process and prospects. Distributed energy resources should participate in the market after scheduling. Therefore, in the third section, according to the types of transactions, this paper summarizes the bidding strategies of virtual power plants, puts forward the challenges faced by the virtual power plants to participate in different markets and prospects. By analyzing the transient process of the virtual power plants, this paper introduces the virtual synchronous generator technology, which can provide inertia for the power grid.
