It depended on the climate-based daylighting metric. The study used computer simulation and on-site measurements to convince the shophouse owner. With the design of the courtyard space and the light sensitivity of human vision, the daylighting performance was evaluated in the entire space of the representative model of the traditional courtyard shophouse.
