POTENTIAL TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF ENERGY FLEXIBILITY IN BORNHOLMS HOSPITAL
Energy flexibility and demand response are suggested as a part of the key solution striving towards the green energy system. The paper investigates technical and economic potentials of energy flexibility in complex buildings, connected to public energy grids. Energy flexibility provided by potential energy components, which are commonly used in complex buildings, are analyzed. A methodology based on dynamic price market and distribution system operator requests for controlling these energy components is proposed. Consequently, these components can be operated smartly to supply grid services and get the economic benefit. Bornholms hospital is used as a case study in this paper. This hospital, located on Bornholm island, is a typical example of common complex buildings in Denmark. From this test case, the methodology can be applied to analyze for the smart energy potentials of hospitals in particular and other complex buildings in general.
