Per-energy capacity ratio is an energy efficiency (EE) metric. In this paper, it is used to compare the performances of wireless systems in macro-femto environment due to fading. The degradation in the per-energy capacity ratio due to fading is evaluated. The results show that deployment of the femtocells along with macrocells is energy efficient under non-fading and fading conditions.
