The results obtained showed that the ethyl acetate extract exhibited a significantly higher ferrous ion chelation activity (83.1%) than the other extracts compared to the EDTA positive control (100%). Dichloromethane and it aqueous extract showed an average capacity for chelation of Fe2+ (48.88 % and 45.81 %, respectively).
