The performance of the tube are mainly related to the quality of the electron-beam, but the side-band cathode emission degenerate the performance of MIG. This paper demonstrated the causes of side-band emission, and a validated experiment was carried out. Study of side-band emission in magnetron injection gun of gyro-TWT
Magnetron injection gun (MIG) in gyrotrons is used to produce the gyrating electron-beam to interact with the high frequency field.
