Proposal of Multi-Hop Wireless LAN System for QOS Guaranteed Transmission
The widespread use of multimedia networking applications has created the need for QoS support in the WLAN systems. The coverage area of WLAN systems is limited, so multi-hop WLAN system is considered to be one of the solutions. However, in home or office environments, due to the multipath propagation effect, the performance of multi-hop WLAN system is degraded. Therefore, QoS guarantee in multi-hop WLAN systems is still difficult. This paper proposes a multi-hop WLAN system for QoS guarantee by using channel estimation to select the appropriate transmission rate and giving optimum transmission opportunity to stations. The numerical simulation results show that by using the proposed system, QoS transmission can be guaranteed over a wide coverage area
