The characteristic of the corona discharge in the line is influenced by the surface crack or break-down of the insulators in the garland, damages in the wires structure, approaching tree branches and various atmospheric phenomena. The identification of the causes of corona discharge is an important task in reducing the technical costs of energy transmission and increasing the reliability of power lines and other technical systems in their vicinity.
