Human likeness of humanoid robots exploring the uncanny valley
Japanese robotic scientist Mori in 1970 suggested that extremely human-like appearance in the robots should be avoided as little design flaws may cause to generate uncanny feelings in the human subject interacting with robot. Recently some researchers have challenged the existence of any such phenomena. In fact the data available both in favor of and against the concept is insufficient. The most important problem is that to date there is not any particular method/scale to quantify the human likeliness of humanoid robots. We are researching to work out some method of quantification for this property of humanoid robots. In this paper a possible solution has been suggested which can then be utilized to scrutinize the existence of uncanny valley
