Most of these media are shared on the Web with the apparition of social networks such as FaceBook, MySpace, Flickr… The problem related to the media extraction and indexing is become a big issue as the need is become primordial to efficiently retrieve the right media among millions of media. Firstly, we will present an overview of some existing visual media indexing/retrieval systems and its related limitations/improvements.
