Construction of orthonormal directional wavelets based on quincunx dilation subsampling
Using quincunx downsampling for bases and standard downsampling for low-redundancy frames, we construct directional wavelet systems that have the same direction selectivity as shearlets in the first frequency dyadic ring; these are the first step towards the construction of efficient shearlet systems.
